Alexander, who won the MVP award in 2005 when he led the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl appearance, will become the 15th member of Seattle’s Ring of Honor.
Alexander played for Alabama from 1996-99 and piled up 3,433 yards rushing and 40 touchdowns, including 19 TDs as a senior. He also had 4 receiving touchdowns in each of his final 2 seasons in Tuscaloosa.
He was a second-team All-SEC selection in 1998. In 1999, Alexander went out with a real bang, being named SEC Player of the Year and a first-team All-American.
In May of 2011, Alexander was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.
Alexander finished his NFL career with 9,453 yards rushing and exactly 100 rushing touchdowns. He was a first-round pick of the Seahawks in 2000 and played 8 seasons in Seattle before finishing his career with the Washington Redskins in 2008.
He was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2000s.
