Former Alabama WR Robert Foster won’t be playing for the New York Giants this season. The club placed Foster on injured reserve Friday. Foster recently injured his hamstring in practice.

Foster has been in the NFL since 2018. After going undrafted, he landed in Buffalo. With the Bills, Foster played in 26 games (5 starts). Foster’s most productive NFL season came in his rookie year when he caught 27 passes for 541 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Bills waived Foster in 2020 as part of final roster cuts ahead of Week 1. Foster spent time with the Green Bay Packers and Washington Football Team in 2020. He made 4 appearances for Washington, catching 2 passes for 37 yards.

Foster signed with the Miami Dolphins in March 2021. He was released on Aug. 30, 2021. In September 2021, Foster landed on the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad. He signed a reserve/futures deal with the team on Jan. 18, but was let go in March.

Foster signed with the Giants on March 14. The only way for Foster to play in 2022 would be if he reachea an injury settlement with the Giants and is released, becoming a free agent.
