Former Alabama wide receiver T.J. Simmons will be looking for a new NFL opportunity. According to reporter Rick Stroud, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are waiving Simmons in the latest round of roster cuts.

The Pinson, Alabama native originally signed with UA as part of the Crimson Tide’s 2016 recruiting class. After playing in 12 games as a freshman, Simmons transferred to West Virginia. He sat out the 2017 season and then played in 30 games, starting 21, for the Mountaineers over the 2018-20 seasons.

Simmons signed with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent in May. He had 86 catches for 1,197 yards and 9 touchdowns at WVU.
