Former Arkansas DB Chevin Calloway announces transfer destination

Former Arkansas DB Chevin Calloway started the first two games of 2018 before deciding to sit out the remainder of the season.
Calloway appeared in all 12 games for the Razorbacks in 2017 and made a total of 17 tackles, forced a fumble and made two fumble recoveries in his two years for the Hogs.
On Thursday, the Dallas, Texas, native announced on social media that he would be transferring to SMU.
“Second chances don’t come often so I thank God for a new perspective and opening up a door for me to continue playing football, networking and getting my degree,” Calloway wrote. ” These past couple months have consisted of prayer and thinking on what will be the best decision for me moving forward. I want to thank all the coaches and players who have reached out to me about playing for their team.
“I also want to thank my family for being there for me through this transition and always reminding me to hold on to my faith. Thank coach Dykes, coach Kane, coach Curtis and coach Kaz for the advice and reaching out to me. I look forward to competing and winning this season. With this being said, I’ve made my decision to continue my education and playing football at Southern Methodist University.”
Calloway signed with Arkansas as a 4-star prospect, the No. 18 CB in the nation and the No. 149 prospect in the 2017 recruiting cycle, per 247Sports Composite Rankings. He signed with Arkansas over Ole Miss, Iowa, Nebraska and Texas among others.
