When the Green Bay Packers traded for former Arkansas RB Knile Davis last week, there wasn’t much time to get him ready for a Thursday night game against the Chicago Bears.

This week, though, Davis has had more time to practice and learn the Packers’ playbook, so the former Kansas City Chief should see more of the field against the Atlanta Falcons.

According to ESPN.com, coach Mike McCarthy is anticipating having Davis available for more plays this weekend:

“Well, Knile Davis, he’s part of the game plan,” McCarthy said. “I think the extra time he spent with Ben Sirmans over the weekend, getting ready. So, yeah, I like what he brings to the table. He’s a natural football player, someone that’s played a lot of football, was successful obviously in college and he’s been in the league. I think this is just more of a language and communication gap that you have to fill. He’s very bright. He’s making progress.”

Davis returned kickoffs for the Packers in last week’s win against the Bears. He’s likely to continue that role moving forward, too.
