In an attempt to find his next school, Marlon Character Jr. has decided to reunite with his former recruiters now coaching in Columbia. The redshirt freshman announced his commitment to South Carolina Tuesday, leading to a reunion of sorts with head coach Will Muschamp and defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson.

Character currently plays for Northwest Mississippi Community College, where he went after Auburn announced he had left the program.

Muschamp was the defensive coordinator and Robinson the secondary coach for Auburn when Character was being recruited by the Tigers. The two left prior to Character signing with the Tigers but clearly, the thought of playing for the Gamecocks was never far from his thoughts.

Character made the news official by posting the following message on Twitter:

A former three-star recruit, Character was a Georgia GSWA Class 4A all-state performer in 2016. He signed with Auburn over offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina, and Ohio State among others.

Character sat out last season after being redshirted by the Tigers.
