Former Auburn linebacker Deshaun Davis has a new pro football home.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Wednesday that they have signed Davis to a contract, and it just so happens that Davis will join former AU quarterback Nick Marshall on the Roughriders. Marshall now plays defensive back for the CFL team.

Davis most recently was on the Eagles practice roster this past December. Davis was initially drafted in the 6th round of the 2019 NFL Draft; however, he was waived during final roster cuts. He then played for the Jaguars and, later, the Eagles.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound tackler played inside linebacker for Kevin Steele’s defense. From 2015 through 2018, Davis racked up 262 total tackles, including 29.5 for loss. During Davis’ 2018 season at Auburn, he made an impressive 15 tackles for loss. He went on to become a first-team All-SEC selection following his senior season.

Davis tore his ACL during his senior season of high school, and Auburn stood by its scholarship offer. That paid off tremendously for the Tigers during his 4 years.
