Former Auburn defensive lineman Malik Bocton was a big loss for the Tigers when he announced that he would be entering the transfer portal. To make things worse, Auburn fans will have to see him play this upcoming season at Jordan Hare Stadium, as Bocton announced that he would be playing for Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers.
He shared the news with Hayes Fawcett of On3.
Bocton was a big recruit for the Tigers, as he was ranked as a 4-star recruit in the 2024 class in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He chose Auburn over other powerhouse programs like Texas, Alabama and Ole Miss among many others.
In two seasons at Auburn, Bocton finished with 33 tackles and two sacks. This past year, he played in all 12 games for the Tigers, starting eight of those games and finishing with 18 tackles.
Kiffin has been busy attacking the portal since he became the coach at Auburn, as Bocton is now the 13th player committed to LSU in the transfer portal of the current cycle, and he is the second defensive tackle.
Auburn has been hit hard by the portal since former USF coach Alex Golesh took over as the head coach. For the Auburn fans, Bocton will be back at Jordan-Hare on Oct. 24 when Auburn hosts LSU.
