When the time came to act, Jeremy Seaman didn’t hesitate. The science teacher and football coach at Noblesville in Indiana took three bullets on Friday when a student carrying multiple firearms started firing. Thanks to Seaman, no students were killed. One student has been injured, however.

According to authorities, the shooter has been apprehended but has not been identified at this time.

Seaman is currently being treated for his injuries, his status at this time is unknown. This information comes via his brother, according to the Indianapolis Star.

“It’s not surprising, to be honest,” he said of his Jeremy’s intervention in the shooting. “He’s not really ever been the person to run away. When the safety of the kids is at hand, it’s not surprising to me that he was going to do what he had to do.”

A former defensive lineman for Southern Illinois, Seaman has been a teacher at the school for four years. Mulitple students claimed Seaman acted to stop the shooter.
