Former Florida LB Ventrell Miller is dealing with another injury. An Achilles injury will sideline Miller for the 2023 season.
“Ventrell, unfortunately, it’s an Achilles. So that’s a season-ending injury there. He’ll be missed,” Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Pederson told reporters Monday.
Miller’s injury occurred in the Jaguars’ preseason finale against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday. Jacksonville selected Miller with the No. 121 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Unfortunately, Miller has plenty of experience dealing with injuries. In February, it was revealed that Miller played through a Jones Fracture during his final season at Florida. Miller was slated to play in the Senior Bowl but missed the game after having a procedure to address the injury.
In the second game of the 2021 season, Miller suffered a season-ending injury. He elected to use the NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver to play a sixth season of college football, returning to Florida. Last season, Miller made 11 appearances for the Gators, recording 74 total tackles, including 8.5 for loss, with 2 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
A fan favorite, Miller played in 49 games over his UF career. He totaled 240 tackles, including 23.5 for loss with 7.5 sacks. In coverage, Miller totaled 8 passes defended over his career, snagging an interception as a redshirt freshman in 2018.
