Former Florida WR Caleb Douglas is heading back to his home state of Texas after 2 seasons at UF.

Douglas announced Wednesday on social media that he has committed to Texas Tech. The Red Raiders went 6-6 in Joey McGuire’s second season and are set to face Cal in the Independence Bowl on Saturday.

Out of Missouri City, Texas, Douglas is listed as measuring 6-3 and 200 pounds on the UF roster. As a freshman, Douglas recorded 10 catches for 175 yards and 2 touchdowns during the 2022 campaign. He picked up the first 2 starts of his career late in his freshman season.

Douglas started the first 5 games of the 2023 season before he was lost for the rest of the year due to injury. He was on pace for a more productive season, having logged 11 catches for 133 yards and 1 score before the injury.

A former standout of Fort Bend Hightower High School, Douglas was a 3-star prospect in the Class of 2022 on the 247Sports Composite. He picked up 30 scholarship offers during his recruitment, going with Florida over LSU, Baylor and others on National Signing Day.

Douglas has 2 full seasons of remaining eligibility, as he has not used a redshirt.
