Former Florida WR Kadarius Toney has landed a new professional football opportunity.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network shared Monday that Toney is signing with the Cleveland Browns. He will join the club’s practice squad with the opportunity to make the active roster.

Rapoport details that Toney chose Cleveland over other interested teams, including the Seattle Seahawks. Toney has a guaranteed salary for 2024 regardless of where he plays.

Toney was selected No. 20 overall in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Entering Year 4 of his pro career, he will be joining his third team.

The New York Giants traded Toney to the Kansas City Chiefs for a third-round draft pick on Oct. 27, 2022.

Toney’s last appearance with the Chiefs came in Week 15 of the 2023 season. The club listed him as unavailable with hip and ankle injuries for Weeks 16-18. Toney would later go on Instagram live and claim that he was being falsely labeled as unavailable when he in fact was not injured.

Though Toney was inactive for Kansas City’s Super Bowl win, he remained with the club into training camp. When it came time for the Chiefs to make final roster decisions, Toney was released on Aug. 27.

In his NFL career, Toney has played in 32 games, making 10 starts. He has logged 82 catches for 760 yards and 3 touchdowns, adding 21 rushes for 119 yards and 1 score. Toney has also appeared in 3 postseason contests, with 1 start, recording 7 catches for 50 yards and 1 TD.

The Cleveland Browns are coming off a 33-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. They travel to Jacksonville in Week 2 to take on the Jaguars.
