Former FSU quarterback Deondre Francois has found a new college football home for the 2019 season.

Francois has transferred to FCS Hampton University, according to Dave Johnson of the Daily Press. Francois worked out with the team Friday on the first day of fall camp. He’s eligible to play immediately.

The ex-FSU signal caller looked to transfer to FAU with Lane Kiffin recently, but that ended up not happening.

FSU dismissed Francois before the start of spring practice following an alleged domestic incident involving his girlfriend. The quarterback was cleared of charges, but that didn’t stop head coach Willie Taggart from taking action.

“Last night, I informed Deondre Francois that he is no longer a member of the Florida State football program,” Taggart said in a statement prior to the start of spring practice. “As we build a new culture and foundation for FSU Football, we have high expectations for all of our student-athletes and we will not shy away from those high standards of conduct. We are moving forward as a program.”

Francois finished 2018 5-6 as the starter, throwing for 2,731 yards, 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He completed less than 58 percent of his passes, and he was a fraction of what most projected him to be at FSU.

Meanwhile, Hampton went 7-3 last season and the starting quarterback, Delmon Williams, graduated. So, Francois should play immediately.
