Former Gators player arrested in armed robbery case

Former Florida DB Deiondre Porter was arrested on Monday night in connection with an armed robbery case, according to a report from Matt Baker of the Tampa Bay Times.

Porter, who last played for the Gators in October, was booked by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 10:07 on Monday night, according to police records.

He was being held in jail with out bond at the time this article was published.

This isn’t Porter’s first run-in with the law.

He was dismissed from the Florida football team by Jim McElwain following an alleged assault that involved allegedly firing a gun at his pregnant girlfriend.

Baker reports that Porter faces four felony charges in that case, which is still open.

Porter played in four games as a redshirt freshman in 2015, mostly on special teams.
