Former Georgia standout Mecole Hardman has apparently come in contact with COVID-19. On Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs placed Hardman on the NFL’s Reserve/COVID-19 list.
Being on the list means Hardman either tested positive or is in quarantine after being exposed to the virus, according to an explanation shared earlier this year by the Minnesota Vikings PR staff:
This new reserve list category was created for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. If a player falls into either of these categories, their club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Per agreed upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.
From an on-field perspective, better now than later in the season. The Chiefs have a Week 10 bye and next play on Nov. 22 against the Las Vegas Raiders. So far this season, Hardman has accumulated 411 yards of total offense on 27 touches. Hopefully, Hardman is back on the field soon.
