Former LSU standout Deion Jones is on the move. The veteran linebacker is headed back to the NFC after landing in the AFC to finish last season.

Jones agreed to terms with the Carolina Panthers following a workout, the team announced Monday.

Jones was a 3-year backup for LSU, taking on a starting role as a senior in 2015. After completing his Tiger career, Jones was selected No. 52 overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Jones played 6 full seasons with the Falcons. He was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team for 2016 and selected to the Pro Bowl in 2017.

The Falcons placed Jones on injured reserve on Sept. 1, 2022. On Oct. 10, Jones was traded to the Cleveland Browns. On Oct. 22, Cleveland activated Jones off of IR. Jones would play in 11 games (5 starts) for the Browns, logging 44 tackles with 2.5 sacks and 3 passes defended, including an interception.

Jones has played in 96 regular-season games over his NFL career, including 88 starts, recording 696 tackles, 11 tackles, 47 passes defended and 12 interceptions.
