Former LSU QB Zach Mettenberger has spent the last 2 years coaching high school football in Tennessee.

The former Tiger and ex-NFL quarterback is now taking a step up in his coaching career.

Mettenberger is now listed on Alabama’s online coaching staff directory as a “football analyst,” presumably joining Nick Saban’s staff as an off-the-field assistant.

Mettenberger was a sixth-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, going to the Tennessee Titans. He played for the Titans, Chargers and Steelers from 2014-16 before his NFL career ended.

He finished his LSU career with 5,783 passing yards, 35 touchdowns, 15 interceptions and a 148.4 QB rating.

Now, he’ll try to rise through the coaching ranks. Getting a start on Saban’s staff is a major step in the right direction.
