The UConn Huskies are currently in the market for a new head coach after Randy Edsall stepped down earlier this season.
Could the Huskies turn to a former Miami and Temple head coach to fill the opening?
On Tuesday, Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports reported that Golden, who is now the Cincinnati Bengals’ LB coach, is a name that has come up in the UConn search:
A name that’s come up as a potential option for the UConn job: Al Golden, who’s now the Bengals LB coach.
UConn has strong interest in him, per sources, although it’s worth noting that he’s also viewed as someone who could be in the mix for NFL DC jobs. https://t.co/78VEhXPlx0

As Zenitz mentions, though, it’s possible Golden could remain in the NFL ranks. He’s also a name that could come up for defensive coordinator jobs this offseason.
We’ll see what happens for Golden over the next few months, but the UConn job is going to be a tough one for whoever takes it next.
