Former Mississippi State basketball captain Terry Kusnierz passes away

Mississippi State on Friday evening announced that Terry Kusnierz, a member of the Bulldogs’ men’s basketball team in the 1970s, has passed away.
“The Bulldog Family mourns the loss of former MSU basketball player Terry Kusnierz,” the university said in a statement on Twitter. “Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”
Born in 1948, Kusnierz served as a captain for the team during the 1973-74 season. In 1971-72, he averaged a double-double with 11.4 points and 12.0 rebounds; only 12 other players in the history of the program have averaged a double-double in a season. Also in the 1971-72 campaign, he pulled down 24 rebounds in a single game, one of the highest totals in program history.
For his career, Kusnierz averaged 8.9 points and 7.8 rebounds through 76 games.
