Former Mississippi State defensive back Will Redmond has been cut by the San Francisco 49ers, according to a report from ProFootballTalk.

Redmond had been on the injured reserve list for a season and a half, and never played a single down in the pros. He was waived off the injured reserve list on Tuesday, the report stated.

The former Bulldogs cornerback was picked up by San Francisco in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Redmond played for Mississippi State from 2012 to 2015. He logged 99 tackles — with 69 of them being solo stops — to go along with eight pass breakups and five interceptions in his college career. He also contributed as a special teams returner.

Redmond tore his ACL in October 2015 while in Starkville.

Between that and an ankle injury this season, he just hasn’t been able to get healthy.
