Former Mizzou DE Markus Golden has already made history for the Arizona Cardinals this season, recording at least one sack in each of the team’s first five games.

However, according to AZCentral.com, the second-year standout isn’t satisfied with his six overall sacks this year:

“You know, you hear about it from people telling you, but I don’t even look at it. I just keep hunting,” Cardinals outside linebacker Markus Golden said.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing in at 260 pounds, Golden is smaller than many elite pass rushers at the NFL level, but he said he doesn’t care about what the scale says:

“Guys are a lot bigger, but I’m a big. I’m just not tall,” Golden said. “I’m pretty strong myself. I’m just not tall like a lot of guys. But that doesn’t matter, man. All that overrated stuff – long arms, all of that. That’s overrated, man. It’s football. It ain’t basketball. You need to be tall in basketball, but football, man, you’ve just got to be out there, have a heart and be a dog. You’ve got to make plays.”

Golden’s Cardinals will host the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Mountain time and the game can be seen on ESPN.
