Sunday was a unique day in Arizona Cardinals’ history.

Moments after DL Chandler Jones recorded a sack to give him one in each of the team’s first four games, former Mizzou DE Markus Golden recorded a sack to give him one in each game.

Before Jones accomplished the feat, a Cardinal hadn’t done it in the team’s 96-year history.

Golden matched Jones’s accomplishment on the next series. He told STLToday.com that he’s happy to have his name in the team’s record book, but he’d like to extend the streak this week:

“It’s good to be able to put your name up amongst some of the great players that have been in the organization,” Golden said. “But the focus is, it’s a long season. You’ve got to be able to keep it going.”

In order to make it five sacks (or more) in five games this season, Golden will have to chase down fellow Mizzou alum Blaine Gabbert, who is now quarterbacking the San Francisco 49ers.

Golden recorded 16.5 sacks in his three seasons at Mizzou.
