The Los Angeles Rams made a surprising decision earlier this offseason when they announced the release of former Mizzou OL Tim Barnes.
Barnes, who went undrafted in the 2011 NFL Draft, spent the first five years of his career with the Rams, starting the last 32 straight games for the team.
This fall, though, Barnes will head north from Los Angeles and suit up for the San Francisco 49ers, who signed the ex-Tiger on Tuesday:
49ers officially announce signing of C Tim Barnes (Mizzou). He was a 2-year starter for Rams and their highest-rated OL both years.

The soon-to-be 29-year-old center seemingly still has several good years left in him, as he has only started for the Rams the last two years.
The 49ers need some stability on their offensive line, and Barnes may be able to provide just that this year.
