Former Mizzou TE Kendall Blanton lands with new NFL team after being waived

Former Mizzou TE Kendall Blanton is on the move.
After recently being waived by the Los Angeles Rams, Blanton has landed with the Washington Commanders. Blanton’s agent shared the news with Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network.

Blanton played at Mizzou from 2014-to-2018. After going undrafted, he signed with the Rams in April 2019.
Blanton spent 3 seasons with the Rams organization. In 2019 and 2020 he bounced between the active roster and practice squad, making 1 regular-season appearance in his rookie year. In the 2021 regular season, Blanton made 11 appearances, including 2 starts, recording 4 catches for 37 yards.
Blanton contributed to the Rams’ postseason run that concluded with a Super Bowl victory. In January 2022, Blanton scored the first touchdown of his NFL career in Los Angles’ divisional victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Blanton got the start in Super Bowl LVI for the Rams, stepping in for the injured Tyler Higbee. Blanton was injured in the first half of the Rams’ 23-20 Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
