Former NFL QB Trent Dilfer pays Alabama freshman QB Tua Tagovailoa the ultimate compliment

True freshman Tua Tagovailoa impressed during his first scrimmage with Alabama, leaving one player’s father to even suggest the Crimson Tide have a quarterback battle on its hands. Judging by the comments of former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer, now head of the Elite 11 quarterback camp, that suggestion shouldn’t be ruled out.
During his Wednesday appearance on radio program The Game on 1029, Dilfer threw this praise at Tagovailoa:

Considering Dilfer annually has a first-hand look at nearly every elite quarterback prospect the nation has to offer, that’s some incredible praise. To those unaware, it should come as no surprise that Tagovailoa won the Elite 11 Finals competition over several of the nation’s most gifted quarterback prospects in the last recruiting cycle.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Tagovailoa was rated as a five-star prospect and the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback prospect in the nation in the 2017 recruiting cycle. Of course, the player standing in Tagovailoa’s path to starting in Tuscaloosa was in his exact position last year and went on to win SEC Offensive Player of the Year honors his first season in college. Not a bad “problem” for Alabama to have under center heading into 2017.
