Former South Carolina kicker Elliott Fry signed a three-year contract with the Chicago Bears, the team announced Friday evening.

Fry spent this spring on the AAF’s Orlando Apollos roster until the league suspended operations. He hit all 14 field goal attempts.

The former Gamecocks kicker had a stellar career in Columbia. The former walk-on left as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 359 points. He finished his college career hitting 66-of-68 field goals and 161-of-162 extra point attempts.

The Bears released former Auburn kicker Cody Parkey after costly misses this past season. Parkey hit 23-of-30 field goals, but the wild-card game is what led to his release. Parkey’s potential game-winning 43-yard field goal was blocked before hitting the left upright and crossbar. The Eagles beat the Bears 16-15.

Fry became the third kicker the Bears signed this off-season.
