Former South Carolina WR Bryan Edwards is looking for a new NFL opportunity.

Field Yates of ESPN shared Tuesday that Edwards has been waived by the New Orleans Saints.

Edwards has been playing professionally since 2020 after capping his 4-season South Carolina career by being named second-team All-SEC in 2019. Jon Gruden’s Las Vegas Raiders selected Edwards with the No. 81 overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Edwards spent his first 2 NFL seasons with the Raiders. He posted his best numbers in 2021, his second season, logging 34 catches for 571 yards and 3 touchdowns in 16 games, making 12 starts.

The Raiders traded Edwards to the Falcons for a draft pick in May 2022. During his time in Atlanta, Edwards played in 7 games, making 1 start, before he was released. He made 3 catches for 15 yards as a Falcon.

The Kansas City Chiefs signed Edwards to their practice squad shortly after his 2022 release, but did not bring him back for 2023. The Saints signed Edwards in March.

In his pro career, Edwards has played in 35 regular-season games, making 16 starts. He has 48 catches for 779 yards and 4 TDs.

We’ll see what’s next professionally for the former star Gamecock.
