Linemen with Power 5 playing experience tend to draw strong interest in the transfer portal. Nichols leaves Rocky Top after 2 seasons. He made appearances in 11 games this past season as a reserve, allowing 1 pressure on 49 snaps.
Nichols is from the Atlanta area. As a Class of 2022 prospect, he was rated 4-stars and the No. 6 interior offensive lineman on the 247Sports Composite. He picked up 30 scholarship offers, signing with Tennessee over Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, USC and others.
Nichols used a redshirt in 2022, giving him 3 remaining seasons of eligibility as he begins his Arkansas career. Tennessee and Arkansas play on Oct. 5, 2024 in Fayetteville.
