The Jalen Hurd saga continues to take one odd turn after another, as the former standout Tennessee running back chose an odd way and time to announce his next destination. After leaving his team hanging after walking away from the program last October, the Tennessee native is headed to Waco, Texas to finish his college career at Baylor.

The fact Hurd decided to make this announcement moments after the conclusion of Tennessee’s latest spring game seems odd. Stranger than that, the way the running back revealed his choice. Check out this image Hurd posted on Twitter:

Hurd finished his Tennessee career with 2,635 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns in just under three seasons of play. After starting his Tennessee career with two solid seasons, Hurd’s game took a big step back last season, as he rushed for only 451 yards and rushing for 1,285 the season prior. His average yards per carry also dropped from 4.6 to 3.7 from his sophomore to junior season.

According to Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports, Hurd will be transitioning not only to a new school but to a new position at Baylor:

Hurd caught 67 passes for the Vols in his three-year career. He will not be eligible to play in 2017 and will have to sit out until the 2018 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
