Former Texas A&M QB Kellen Mond is looking for a new professional opportunity. The Cleveland Browns announced Thursday that the club has waived Mond as part of training camp roster cuts.

Mond will look to land with an NFL team for his third professional season. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings with the No. 66 pick in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft after 4 seasons at Texas A&M.

Mond spent his rookie season with the Vikings. He made his NFL regular-season debut in Week 17 of the 2021 season when he was named the team’s backup quarterback with Kirk Cousins unavailable due to COVID-19. Mond played in the 4th quarter of Minnesota’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

The Vikings held onto Mond entering the 2022 offseason, but waived him on Aug. 30, 2022, ahead of Week 1. The Browns landed Mond off waivers the following day.

Mond did not make any regular-season appearances during his time with the Browns. With Deshaun Watson returning as QB1, Cleveland signed Joshua Dobbs this offseason and drafted former UCLA QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

We’ll see what’s next for the former Texas A&M quarterback.
