FOX CFB analyst Matt Leinart names SEC QB among top 5 performers of Week 8

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels received a shoutout from FOX Sports college football analyst Matt Leinart for his performance on Saturday during the Tigers’ come-from-behind win against Ole Miss.

LSU at one point trailed 17-3 and went into the locker room down 20-17. But they outscored the Rebels 28-0 in the final 2 quarters to win 45-20. Daniels finished the day 21-of-28 for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns but added 3 rushing touchdowns and 121 yards on 23 carries.

Leinart, on Monday, released his top 5 performers from the previous week’s action, and Daniels came in at No. 1 for his efforts. He beat out a former SEC signal-caller, Bo Nix, who impressed in Oregon’s blowout of UCLA.

After being blown out at home against Tennessee 2 weeks ago, Brian Kelly’s team has now won 2 straight against Florida and now Ole Miss. Daniels and the Tigers, at 6-2, are currently on a bye week but return to action on Nov. 5 as they host Alabama in Death Valley.
