Gary Danielson missed? Fans, media discuss new CBS crew calling Ole Miss-Alabama

Gary Danielson was at a Big Ten game on Saturday, and SEC fans weren’t sure how to handle it. Many, in fact, missed Danielson and his broadcast partner Brad Nessler.

Alabama, Ole Miss and SEC fans in general were a bit lost on Saturday without Danielson on the “SEC on CBS” broadcast.

With Danielson set to call Iowa at Penn State, the CBS crew was Tom McCarthy, Jason McCourty and Ross Tucker, a new team assembled this season, with sideline reporter Tiffany Blackmon.

Danielson is often criticized during the weekly 3:30 p.m. ET games on CBS as fans suggest his has a bias toward Alabama, or makes mistakes referring to key players. Danielson has kept it in stride, though, and understands opinions are a part of college football.
