Jim McElwain’s program got some good news Monday morning as junior college defensive back Deontai Williams has announced his commitment to the Gators. Florida now has nine total commits pledged to join the 2018 recruiting class following Williams’ commitment.

The 6-foot, 175-pound Williams does not currently have a star rating according to 247Sports. He was once a Florida commit during the program’s time under Will Muschamp back in 2015, he then committed to Georgia before ultimately signing with Ohio. After failing to qualify academically, Williams’ next step came at Jones County junior college.

Williams announced his recommitment to Florida Monday morning on Twitter:

Following Williams’ commitment, the Gators now have four defensive backs pledged to join the program in the 2018 recruiting class.
