The state of Georgia boasts the most players on SEC rosters for 2015, but the Bulldogs dipped down into the state of Louisiana Monday for their newest commitment.

Four-star 2017 wide receiver Devonta Smith pulled the trigger for UGA.

The 6-1, 155-pound prospect is from Amite, Louisiana, and he’s ranked as the country’s No. 17 overall receiver and the state’s No. 8 overall prospect for the 2017 recruiting class, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

Smith became Georgia’s third commitment for the class of 2017.

“Getting the news that I earned an offer from Georgia was great, because I know at Georgia I will be well taken care of and coaches that will look out for my best interests,” Smith told 247Sports. “Athens is a nice place. The campus is beautiful.”
