Georgia could end up having the top 2 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Athletic’s Dane Brugler released his way-too-early mock on Tuesday morning, just days after the conclusion of the 2024 draft. A pair of Georgia players appeared at the top of the mock draft.
Defensive lineman Mykel Williams earned the top spot, although Brugler acknowledged that the race for the No. 1 pick is wide open at this point in time. Here’s his analysis on Williams:
At this time last year, it was easy to put together the top of my mock, with stars like Caleb Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr. But the 2025 draft class doesn’t have that type of established star power, leaving the No. 1 pick wide-open.
A toolsy prospect, Williams’ 2023 tape doesn’t show consistency, but there are high highs, including what he did in the bowl game against Florida State.
Quarterback Carson Beck landed at No. 2 in Brugler’s mock draft. The talented signal-caller is expected to be amongst the first quarterbacks taken in the 2025 draft. Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Texas’ Quinn Ewers are the other top candidates to be the top QB off the board.
Here’s what Brugler had to say about Beck’s draft stock:
If the Titans are drafting this high next April, the organization might be re-examining its quarterback situation.
In his first year as a starter, Beck got consistently better with each performance and put some beautiful throws on tape. He enters the season as the quarterback scouts like the most.
Late last week, DraftKings released updated odds to be the No. 1 overall pick. Sanders was the favorite at +100. If this mock is to be believed, then both Williams (+1500) and Beck (+300) would be good value bets.

Two other Georgia players also appeared in Brugler’s first-round mock: safety Malaki Starks at No. 12 and offensive tackle Earnest Greene III at No. 16.
Georgia has produced 5 No. 1 overall draft picks in its history, most recently Travon Walker in 2022.
