Georgia makes bold call, pulls within 3 points in closing minutes

Georgia trailed Alabama 27-24 with just under 3 minutes remaining in the SEC Championship Game.
The Bulldogs made a serious dice roll, though, facing a 4th-and-goal at the 1 following 3 straight runs and a timeout. Instead of playing it safe and kicking a field goal to make it 27-20, Kirby Smart and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo opted to put it into the hands of Kendall Milton.
Milton, ultimately, would punch it in, as you can see below:

It was a risky play call with Georgia’s 29-game win streak — and perfect season — on the line. While one can only imagine the reaction had the Dawgs not made it into the end zone, Milton’s score kept them in it. That said, they burned plenty of time running the ball in a situation where the clock was firmly against them.
Milton’s touchdown ultimately didn’t matter as Alabama held on for the 27-24 win to snap Georgia’s streak. That’s now 4 SEC Championship Games against the Bulldogs and 4 wins for the Tide.
