Georgia wide receiver Michael Jackson III intends to enter the transfer portal, according to a report.

That news was shared by On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Saturday night, just hours after UGA’s overtime win over Texas in the SEC Championship Game.

Jackson spent 1 year at Georgia. He transferred in last offseason after beginning his career at USC.

Although Jackson had plenty of pedigree as a prospect, he never established a big role on Georgia’s offense. He made just 1 reception for 10 yards this season.

With the transfer portal set to officially open on Monday, it’s possible Georgia will lose even more reserve players before it plays in its quarterfinal College Football Playoff game. The Bulldogs’ win in the SEC Championship Game means they won’t have to play a first-round matchup this year.

Georgia is not extremely deep at receiver, but the Bulldogs do have some solid options as they look toward the postseason. Dominic Lovett, Arian Smith, Dillon Bell and London Humphreys are just a few of the receivers that UGA will have at its disposal going into the postseason.

Georgia will learn its seed in this year’s CFP when the final rankings are revealed on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. ET.
