Georgia has scheduled a game with Louisiana-Monroe for 2020.
The Warhawks will travel to Sanford Stadium in Athens on Sept. 26 of that year, according to a contract obtained on Tuesday by the Athens Banner-Herald — as this report from the newspaper details.
The contract was reportedly signed by the schools in August.
Georgia will pay Louisiana-Monroe $1.75 million for the game. That money is guaranteed.
The ‘Dawgs and Warhawks have played four times in the past. Georgia has never lost to Monroe:
- 1994 — Georgia won 70-6
- 1997 — Georgia won 42-3
- 2005 — Georgia won 44-7
- 2015 — Georgia won 51-14
With the news of UGA’s game vs. Monroe, it appears that the Bulldogs have just about finalized the non-conference portion of the schedule for 2020.
Georgia is also scheduled to play Virginia in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in 2020 (Labor Day, Sept. 7). The Bulldogs will host annual rival Georgia Tech on Nov. 28 of that year, and host East Tennessee State on a date to be determined.
