GG Jackson has made it official. Days after backing off his pledge to North Carolina, the Columbia native has announced he’s staying home to play for South Carolina.

As a class of 2023 prospect, Jackson was rated 5-stars, No. 1 power forward and No. 2 player overall on the 247Sports Composite. Jackson will be reclassifying to join the class of 2022 so he can play for Lamont Paris’ squad this season.

Jackson has 16 scholarship offers. He was committed to UNC from April 27 to July 14 of this year. The whole Gamecock community anxiously awaited Jackson’s announcement.
