Greg McElroy believes turnovers will be the difference in the matchup between Alabama and Texas A&M.

It will be Jalen Milroe vs. Max Johnson on Saturday. Johnson was named the starter after Conner Weigman suffered a season-ending foot injury.

With Milroe and Johnson, turnovers have been an issue for both. McElroy broke down how both quarterbacks have struggled in that department via Always College Football on Friday.

“Turnovers have been part of the story for Jalen Milroe and Max Johnson. If they come to the forefront in this game, there are gonna be some issues. Milroe’s had five career starts, he’s thrown four interceptions in those games. He’s also had two fumbles in those five starts. Johnson, however has had 18 career interceptions. Johnson’s had eight career interceptions and 13 fumbles. Ball security is of the utmost importance.”

The team that ends up winning this game could very well be the one who’s quarterback makes the fewest mistakes.

At the end of the day, McElroy anticipates the game being low scoring and competitive. He expects the game to come down a field goal as time expires.

“I think it’s gonna be really competitive and low scoring as well. I think both defenses are excellent,” said McElroy. “I expect both coaching staffs on offense to really emphasize the point that if you give the other team a short field in this one, we are going to lose. I think it’s gonna be a close one where a walk-off field goal wins it.”
