Conner Weigman suffered a serious lower leg injury in Saturday’s win over Auburn, and now multiple reports have suggested that the Texas A&M quarterback has learned an ominous medical update.

Weigman’s foot injury is, in fact, a season-ender for the emerging SEC star. It’s to a weight-bearing bone and will require a roughly a 3 and a half month recovery, Billy Liucci of TexAgs reported. Brent Zwerneman of The Houston Chronicle reported that Weigman’s lower leg injury is more extensive than previously thought.

Jimbo Fisher on Monday described it as day-to-day, and said that Weigman has a “little sprain with a little swelling.” Weigman has 979 yards, 8 touchdowns and 2 interceptions as the Aggies starting quarterback this season.

Johnson sparked the offense against Auburn, and produced 123 yards and 2 touchdowns. Fisher liked what he saw from Johnson on Saturday.

“We moved the ball consistently on the day,” Fisher said. “I thought Max (Johnson) did well once Conner (Weigman) came out.”

Texas A&M faces Arkansas on Saturday.

Johnson lost the starting quarterback battle coming into the season, but Fisher said that he has made the most of his time and is ready to go if needed.
