Greg McElroy broke down Texas A&M’s regular-season win total on the most recent episode of the Always College Football podcast.

The Aggies’ win total currently sits at 8.5 according to most of the top sports betting apps. McElroy broke down the schedule and then offered some thoughts on A&M’s win total.

“I think you look at [the schedule], some of those home games and a couple of gettable road games, A&M should be sitting pretty this year,” McElroy said. “And if they can continue to be as good on defense as I anticipate them being and make some progress offensively while staying healthy, I think A&M is one of those teams that not enough people are talking about going into this upcoming season.

“I think the A&M Aggies have a chance to really threaten, I really believe this, really threaten in the SEC this year if they can stay healthy across the board.”

McElroy identified home games against Florida and Auburn as matchups the Aggies need to win in order to achieve their goals.

“Those games, you have to take care of business,” McElroy added.

Texas A&M went 8-4 during the regular season a year ago, coming up just short of reaching the College Football Playoff. The Aggies lost to Notre Dame, South Carolina, Auburn and Texas. All 4 of those teams are on A&M’s schedule again this fall. Texas A&M will get to host South Carolina and Auburn this year, but will face the Irish and Longhorns on the road.

Texas A&M will open the 2025 season with UTSA on Aug. 30.
