The Tigers went on the road and came away from College Station with a big win last weekend and now host the No. 1 team in the nation with Georgia set to invade the Plains. Auburn currently ranks No. 10 in the Playoff poll and a win this weekend should likely shoot the team up the ranks.
The Auburn coach spoke Wednesday during the SEC Coaches Teleconference.
Here’s a summary of what he had to say:
- Opening comments: We had a big road win last week, feel good about how we won that one. Finished strong in the 4th quarter. Big challenge this week. They have the talent that goes with that. Defensively, they have no weakness.
- Thoughts on Lorenzo Carter? He’s very talented, first of all. He has talent all around him. It’s tough to focus on one player because of all the talent there.
- Thoughts on Steven Roberts? He has been one of our most consistent players. He does a great job and does special teams.
- How is prep similar among Alabama and Georgia? Both very talented. Kirby has his own flair. He has his own defense running over there.
- Thoughts on Kerryon Johnson?: He has the talent the next step in his game. His ball security and in the passing game, he’s been great.
- Jarrett Stidham’s improvement? A little bit of everything. He was very experienced. His comfort level is increased, with his teammates and what he’s doing.
