Earlier this month, it was reported that two of Gus Malzahn’s closest administrators, director of football operations Jamie Croley and assistant athletics director for football David Gunn, resigned from their positions with the Tigers.

On Wednesday, Malzahn offered a timeline for filling the staff vacancies.

“We are hoping in the next week, probably week to 10 days we’ll be able to fill those,” Malzahn told AL.com’s John Talty at the SEC spring meetings in Destin, Fla.

Talty notes director of football recruiting Brett Whiteside has been one of the names mentioned for the open administrative roles.

Croley, who is Malzahn’s brother-in-law, later revealed he resigned to help the Malzahns start a charitable foundation.

“I want to help this foundation get started,” Croley said. “I still get to work with family, both Gus and Kristi now. … It’s an opportunity that I feel like to give back to people. The goal is to get that thing up and running.”
