Mississippi State now has 12 total pledges lined up in its 2018 recruiting class following the commitment announcement of Georgia offensive lineman Griffin McDowell Friday morning.
The 6-foot-4, 280-pound McDowell is currently not ranked by 247Sports, however, the Georgia lineman does hold scholarship offers from Indiana, Kansas, South Alabama, Troy and Marshall, among a few others. While it’s true McDowell doesn’t hold any offers from any other SEC schools at this time, that’s never stopped Mississippi State from trusting its own evaluations and finding excellent players overlooked by others.
