It’s an Alabama reunion in Minnesota.
Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press reports that the Minnesota Vikings are signing former Crimson Tide tight end Hale Hentges off of the Indianapolis Colts practice squad. The Vikings will then have two former UA tight ends in Hentges and former teammate Irv Smith Jr.
Unfortunately, Hentges is not expected to be available for Minnesota’s game at Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Hentges played in 11 games, including four starts, for Washington last year. He caught 8 of his 14 targets for 103 yards and a touchdown. Washington waived Hentges on Sept. 5 and then he was released on Sept. 17.
Hentges signed with the Indianapolis practice squad on Sept. 22, his second stint with the club.
