The 2024 Heisman Trophy race has a new leader.

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers has stormed to the top of the Heisman odds charts at most sportsbooks following UT’s big win over Michigan in Week 2. The Longhorns now own one of the nation’s best overall wins and look like one of the best teams in the SEC during the early part of the season.

Ewers is as high as +500 to win the Heisman over at FanDuel. However, his price is a little better for bettors at BetMGM and DraftKings where he’s currently sitting at +600. It’s a big move up the board for Ewers, who was +1400 to win the award after Week 1. If Ewers does win the Heisman, he’d be just the 3rd player in Texas football history to do so.

Of course, it’s a long season and this race is far from over. Cam Ward, Jaxson Dart, Carson Beck and Nico Iamaleava round out the top 5 in the consensus odds this week.

Ward has an impressive win under his belt already — Miami’s blowout win over Florida in Week 1. After beating Florida A&M in Week 2, Ward’s best price in-market is now +900 courtesy of BetMGM.

Dart hasn’t had to face any tough competition yet, but he has put up some impressive numbers during Ole Miss’ first 2 games. Dart’s odds improved overall this week can be bet at +950 to win the Heisman Trophy.

Beck and the Bulldogs had an easy assignment in Week 2 after blasting Clemson in Week 1. His odds are largely unchanged, but his best price comes from DraftKings at +1000.

Iamaleava had an uneven day in Tennessee’s 51-10 win over NC State. Despite throwing 2 interceptions, Iamaleava’s profile seems to be growing nationally — which is important for his Heisman chances. Iamaleava’s best price is still +1200 (DraftKings and FanDuel) but he has risen as high as +900 at some books.
