The Downtown Athletic Club of New York has just announced the 2017 Heisman Trophy finalists.
Each year, up to five finalists are asked to attend the Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York City following Championship Weekend. Voters from around the nation, as well as every single living Heisman winner of the past, are asked to annually cast their ballot for the most outstanding player in college football.
The last five winners of the award: Louisville QB Lamar Jackson last year, Alabama RB Derrick Henry in 2015, Oregon QB Marcus Mariota in 2014, FSU QB Jameis Winston in 2013 and Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel.
Here’s the complete list of finalist for the 2017 award:
- Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield
- Stanford RB Bryce Love
- Louisville QB Lamar Jackson
