The 2023 Heisman Trophy finalists were revealed on Monday during ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown.

Jayden Daniels, as expected, cracked the list of 4 finalists: Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr., Oregon’s Bo Nix and Washington’s Michael Penix all join Daniels as finalists for the highly sought-after trophy.

Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, to the surprise of some, was not named a finalist for the award.

Daniels is a heavy favorite to win the award.

The LSU quarterback’s numbers are in a class of its own; Daniels has thrown for 3,812 yards with 40 touchdowns and 4 interceptions while also rushing for 1,134 yards with 10 touchdowns. His rushing yards are the most of any QB in the country and No. 26 among all rushers – including running backs – across all of FBS.

That’s just silly.

Nix and Penix have both had stellar seasons for the top 2 QBs in the Pac-12. Penix’s Washington Huskies bested Nix’s Ducks last Friday in the Pac-12 Championship game, dealing a major blow to Nix’s chances at winning the elusive trophy.

The award for the top overall player in college football will be awarded at the Heisman Trophy Ceremony, which will air this Saturday (Dec. 9) at 8 pm EST on ESPN.
