With the release of the first College Football Playoff rankings Tuesday night, fans and the media have begun going through the scenarios of how either result from the LSU-Alabama showdown this weekend will impact the rest of college football. Right now, the conclusion is Alabama needs to win more than LSU because the Crimson Tide don’t have a signature win.

Should Alabama lose to LSU, it likely won’t be a division champion either, making it a trip back to the College Football highly unlikely for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was asked Tuesday about his team’s weak resume. His response was very Nick Saban-like.

“We don’t make the schedule,” he said. “We just play the games that’s on it. The only thing we can do to change that narrative is to play the best football we can.”

Listen to Ruggs’ full response and session with the media below:

Alabama can play well, but again, probably only a win against LSU will change that narrative this Saturday.
